It’s official!! Many sources have been pre-announcing it, but we are the first to confirm with SAP that the Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 2, Fix Pack 2.1 is ready for download.
You can access the download, Release Notes and Fixed Issues doc at the following link (please bookmark) – https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
Note: If you originally downloaded it you have now have the ‘old version (build 12,2,1,66)’, and you will have to uninstall that version and re-install the current download. In Windows you can go to Add/Remove Programs, check Show Updates and then you can uninstall just the Fix Pack.
It was also just announced on SDN:

I’m being a guinea pig and have installed Win 7. I can’t seem to get this FP installed. Xcelsius is not crashing as much as it was on Vista.
Thanks for being the guinea pig.
Did you have a previous installation of it before we posted the article? We notified everyone that this would need to be uninstalled first. See the old build # in the article above.

Allan,
As I am sure you are aware that Windows 7 is not supported. However one thing that you could try which again will not be supported because it is still Win 7 is on Win 7 there is an XP Mode (basically an MS VM running XP that you can use for backwards compatibility) that MS let you download for free.
Let us know how it goes and thanks again for being the guinea pig on this!

I had a previous installation but when I upgraded my work laptop, I did a clean install. I don’t like having a messy hard drive. I haven’t needed to run Xcelsius in XP Mode yet. Xcelsius used to crash on me at least 4 times daily. Now it crashes maybe once a week. If it does, it’s because I try to do too much in Excel outside of Xcelsius. I haven’t been able to update to the latest 2.1 for some reason though. I haven’t found the need to spend a long time on it since 2.0 works fine for me.
Here’s what I’m using:
Lenovo T400 w/ 3MB Ram
Win 7 Ultimate x64
Office 2007 Pro
