NEWS ALERT! Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 5 (SP5) is now GA

Finally GA!

For weeks there has been announcements all over Twitter that the Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 5 (SP5) with support for Windows 7 and Office 2010 (32-bit) was available on the Service Marketplace. Today we were notified that SAP has made it generally available on its new product updates site: http://bit.ly/xgnFt1 (see the official announcement from Matt Lloyd).

This Service Pack is a cumulative patch, so it incorporates all the patches to-date and delivers new fixes and features. All files must be extracted and downloaded from the zip file and ran directly from your hard drive. After Service Pack 5 (SP5) is installed, the version number in the about box will change to: 5.5.0.0.

Noted additions to this service pack include:

  1. Wrap Text Support for Scorecards: In scorecard components, text can be set to wrap within cells.
  2. Enhanced Support for Bubble Charts: Now you can now bind the alert values in a bubble chart so you can have one series but have control over the bubble colors using alerts (before you had to define one series for each color which was a pain). Below is a screenshot of the Bubble Chart.

Listed below is all the provided documentation you will need:

Thanks for the heads-up. I’m more excited about the bug-fixes than anything! (In particular, the annoying combo box bug where that sliver of space between the box and the drop down list will make the list disappear, why didn’t they just use the native Flex combo box??? Arggg.) Also, the inactive hovering/tooltips with charts that change their dynamic visability too quickly has been fixed.

Still no fix for the QaaWS performance leak. :(

    Hi

    I am on xCelcius SP3 (I Think)

In the about dialog box is states:

    xCelcius Engage 5.3.4.0
    Build Number 12,3,4,1038

Can I apply this SP5 directly to this version ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

If I download the trail version of Xcelsius from the web, do you Idea whether that will incorporate Service Pack 5 or will that be Service Pack 4

    Thanks,

    MJ

  5. Josh Tapley says:

I don’t see the option to wrap text in the Scorecard under service pack 5. Am I missing something, or is it not there?

    Josh

  6. Mico Yuk says:

    Hey Josh,

This was addressed in our LinkedIn group. Seems SAP kind of missed the bus on this one.

Will probably be in next SP.

Usually the downloads are up to date, but you can check. If you to about and look at the version, the 2nd digit (5.2.3) is the SP #. If its not 5 then you can search here for link and just download to update it.
