Hi Everyone,
So we are officially counting down to the Xcelsius Advanced Developer Workshop in Dallas, TX, on March 24-25. There are less than 9 days left and less than 5 seats available. Mico and Mike are prepared and look forward to the workshop and meeting all the attendees.

I got question on Xcelsius, Can a different Excel can be used as source for Xcelsius, like we use XML as source or LiveOffice etc..in the same was can different Excel be source for Xcelsius?
Srikanth,
I don’t quite understand what you are asking here. If you are asking whether or not you can Excel and say XML and Live Office as a data source for a single dashboard the answer is yes. Once you have the correct licensing you can use any combination of the available data connection options together in a single Xcelsius model.

I hope srikanth was asking something like he wants to get data from an excel sheet to the Xcelsius embedded excel sheet, like the way we fetch data from Live Office and XML in the excel sheet.
I have a question to Srikanth, can you please tell me was that a requirement ?

I got question on Xcelsius,I want to keep my source Excel sheet in sheet protection mode. But when I try to do the preview on the dashboard then the dashboard is not showing up any data. But if I remove the sheet protection from excel file then it is showing up the data. is there any way we can get the from a protected excel sheet ?

What version of Xcelsius are you using. Even if the sheet is protected it should show the data on the dashboard.

Thanks for the reply.The version is Xcelsius designer 4.5.The excel version is Msoffice 2003 sp3.

Hi Mico, I have a problem similar to Sino. Whenever I hide columns/rows and/or password protect sheet, all the components show up blank in preview and runtime mode. I am running Xcelsius Present 2008 and Win XP SP3.

This is Bhikhu Rajbhar, i am user of xcelsius2008sp3. it’s really very coooooool software to visualize ur data. and i love to work on it.
but i have problem when i am importing the .xlsx file in xcelsius, i am not getting the rows more then 65536.
Is their any row limitation for xcelsius2008sp3 ??????????????????
Kindly revert back asap…., it will very useful for me, if i will get ur early response.

It seems that you hit the limit within Xcelsius. Don’t quite understand how you manage to get more rows than that?

Hi Mico,
I am using Excel 2007 and there are more than 65536 rows. After importing the excel 2007 file in xcelsius2008sp3 , i am not able to see rows below 65536.
I understand that 65536 is a limit in excel 2003, Is the same true in case of xcelsius2008sp3 too ????????????????????
And one more thing when i am importing the excel 2007 file (Size 65 MB) in xcelsius2008sp3, the Status shows “Server Busy” – ‘Switch To’ Correct the Programe.
wat is the maximum size limit of excel 2007 file to import in xcelsius2008sp3 ?????
